Rugged Power Supplies

Power supplies have been an important part of the Relec product range since the company was formed in 1978. In 2003 Power-One became a major part of our portfolio bringing with it the Melcher brand, at the same time two former Melcher employees* joined our team, bringing significant design, technical and application experience with them. In 2014 Power-One including Melcher became part of the Bel Power Solutions group.

Melcher started in 1972 in Switzerland, a country synonymous with premium quality precision engineering. Their designs produce high power densities with high efficiency, achieved without compromising long term reliability in extreme climatic conditions.

Robust design provides for a long service life even under severe conditions. Using selected top grade, high quality wide temperature range components is one element. Also careful consideration to the mechanical construction forms a fundamental part of the design process.

Designed from the onset to exceed the requirements for low conduction and radiated electro-magnetic emissions whilst offering excellent immunity to severe transients, surges and conducted/radiated emissions.

These rugged power supplies are suitable for transportation quasi-military, marine, industrial, remote communications, reliability critical applications such as monitoring and control systems.
